Update on Crane Incident on board Pacific Osprey on 23rd August
Four of the crew members who received medical attention on the evening of 23rd August have been released to return home. After being discharged from hospital they had a period of rest in a hotel and were then flown home to continue their recovery.
The fifth crew member who received treatment is now in a stable condition recovering in hospital.
A specialist salvage team is onboard Pacific Osprey to ensure that the crane boom tip and main crane boom are safe and secure before the vessel is moved to a shipyard for repairs.
Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Swire Blue Ocean, said “The safety and well-being of our people is always our first priority. We will continue to support those affected and their families throughout the recovery period. Work is being done to prepare the vessel for removal of the damaged equipment ahead of repair work.
A thorough investigation into the cause of the incident is well underway.”
