Project Manager Peter Kyhl:
"A major project milestone has been reached. We are halfway on Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm! 42 out of 84 turbines have been installed with no injures to our crew on board the Pacific Orca. Swire Blue Ocean endeavours to continue installation on the second half of the project with an equally high focus on safety.
We are proud to be part of this immense undertaking in the harsh waters off the coast of Northern Scotland. I would, yet again, like to thank all members of the crew for their professionalism and hard work. When finished, Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm will be able to produce 588 MW, enough to supply 450,000 Scottish homes with renewable energy.
We wish everyone involved in the project a happy holiday season, and we look forward to the new year when Scotland’s energy supply is a bit less dependent on fossil fuels due to the work being done now!"
