Pacific Osprey has been chartered by GeoSea NV for the transport of the offshore transformer module (OTM) to be installed at Albatros OWF.
Albatros Offshore Wind Farm is adjacent to Hohe See Offshore Wind Farm in the German EEZ of the North Sea approx. 90 km north of Borkum Island. The two sites are also in proximity to the existing wind farm, Global Tech I.
Pacific Osprey mobilised in Esbjerg, Denmark before she transited to Rotterdam, Netherlands, where the OTM structure was transferred from a barge to Pacific Osprey’s deck by Scaldis’ sheerleg Gulliver. Once loaded, Pacific Osprey transited to the Albatros site and jacked up next to the OTM foundation, where she is currently located. GeoSea’s wind turbine installation vessel, DP2 Innovation, then jacked up next to Pacific Osprey; Innovation used her main crane to lift the OTM and installed it on the foundation. After the installation has been completed, some finishing works will remain and are to be completed from Pacific Osprey, after which, Pacific Osprey is expected back in the Port of Esbjerg in mid-April 2019.
